Q: What is Logix Resource Group?
A: Logix Resource Group is a privately-held company based in Duluth, Georgia, a technology suburb of Atlanta. We provide flexible, web-based, hosted network monitoring and management solutions that help enterprises achieve improved performance and a higher ROI by intelligently and proactively managing their IT infrastructure. We specialize in WAN, LAN, server and firewall monitoring, helping enterprises optimize current bandwidth, measure application performance and plan additional bandwidth needs.
Q: Is Logix a start-up?
A: No. Logix Resource Group has been providing network monitoring and management solutions since May 2000. We have 35+ enterprise customers with approximately 4,000 managed devices. And, we are partnered with 18 national as well as regional integrators. On the carrier side, we are currently providing services to AT&T, which they have branded as their own.
Q: What markets do you sell to?
A: We work with integrator, enterprise, and carrier customers.
Q: What size companies do you sell to?
A: We have found that our solution is versatile enough to meet the needs of small and large companies. We have Fortune 100 companies using our services for hundreds of sites, as well as small customers that need help managing 20 – 25 sites, or fewer. Some of our customers include ADCom, Randstad Staffing Services, IMAX Theaters, AT&T and Iasis.
Q: What problems do you solve for customers?
A: High cost and complexity becomes an inhibitor for many enterprises to proactively manage their data networks
- Logix requires no up front capital investment, is affordable and you don’t have to manage the management system
Multiple, disjointed solutions are difficult to manage
- Our single platform helps network managers avoid the “swivel chair” approach
No ability to capitalize on SLA credits due
- With our unique SLA reporting capability, Logix makes this process easy
Lack of flexibility in reporting, querying, scheduling
- Only Logix gives customers the ability to create ad hoc reports, and to schedule regular delivery of the reports
Q: What are the shortcomings of existing network management options?
A: Existing network management options have a number of shortcomings. These include:
- Because most other network management solutions are sold as licensed software, they are expensive, complex and require significant up front capital investments;
- Also, due to the way they are architected, they are not all-inclusive and require that an increased number of specialized software solutions be purchased and maintained. Because of this, the IT department ends of managing the management system, rather than the network; and
- Finally, other solutions fail to deliver e-Bonding capabilities, they often lack the ability to create ad hoc reports, and none have the ability to schedule reports to be delivered proactively.
Q: How are you different from competitors?
A: We are unique in that we are the only company that is E-Bonded with 2 carriers. Also, we are delivering our services in a new, non-proprietary approach - Software as a Service (SaaS). This model allows our customers to enjoy the benefits of the software without the difficulties of deploying software, training users and managing updates, backups, etc. Other competitive differentiators of our services include:
- No appliances needed
- No capital investment needed
- Not proprietary
- Scalable
- Customizable
Q: What is E-Bonding?
A: E-Bonding is the ability to automatically generate trouble tickets to the carrier. We make this process easy by giving customers the ability to:
- Open trouble tickets on-line to report a service condition
- Add comments to the log of an existing ticket
- Work to resolve the trouble
- View the latest status and log of an existing ticket
- View historical ticket information
- Optionally receive email notifications of ticket status changes
Q: What is the value proposition to integrators?
A: With Logix, integrators can develop new, recurring revenue services that can be delivered standalone or bundled with hardware and carrier products. Our solutions can be branded for increased customer retention, and unlike expensive software suites or carrier services, we give integrators a no-risk opportunity to enter a new market without requiring capital expenditures or extensive training to deliver high value.
Q: What is the value proposition to carriers?
A: Logix enables carriers to sell new services to smaller customers. Our solutions can be branded for increased customer retention, and unlike expensive software suites, we give carriers a no-risk, cost-effective opportunity to enter previously unprofitable market segments without requiring capital expenditures or extensive training to deliver high value.
Q: What experience does your management team have?
A: Our management team brings more than 50 years of telecommunications industry experience to Logix Resource Group. The company’s founder, Mike Triebert, brings more than 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with extensive experience in network solutions, network design, AT&T product management and enterprise network management. - We assume the responsibility of maintaining live, spare servers in case of hardware problems
Q: Who runs the 24/7 NOC?
A: Logix’ NOC handles trouble resolution 24/7 and we have a staff of 20 engineers who are always available to work with carriers, customers and/or other vendors to resolve any outages that we detect. Logix is committed to delivering the highest quality customer care and support. Our engineers are extremely familiar with the networks we monitor and have the ability to designate certain sites as critical and to offer guidelines for handling troubles that are customizable per site.
Q: Will you need to install equipment at the customer site or require an on-site technician?
A: No, all of our monitoring and statistics gathering is performed using ICMP and SNMP. The work required to set up a network on our monitoring system is all done remotely from our Network Management Center.
Q: Can the customer still have access to network devices?
A: Yes, unlike most other Network Management Providers, Logix understands that it is still the customer’s network and there may be times they need or want to make changes themselves. Our service does not preclude customers from having access to make configuration changes.
Q: How much traffic will your monitoring system add to a customer’s network?
A: Our system defaults are that we will ping every monitored device every two minutes and we will collect statistics via SNMP get requests every five minutes. The amount of traffic this generates is negligible - approximately 12 bps per monitored device.
Q: Can Logix monitor multiple carriers and multiple CPE vendors in a network?
A: Yes. The Logix platform is vendor and carrier independent. We use industry standard protocols, ICMP and SNMP which allow us to present a customer’s entire network, WAN, LAN, Servers, Firewalls, on one web portal with one reporting system.
Q: Are your services affordable?
A: Yes. We offer more features, better customer service and are much more flexible than any carrier managed service, yet our price is probably less than half of that of competitors. We work with customers to develop cost justification and ROI models that will show how our service saves money.
